It's been a long while since we pulled on our hiking boots and slung a 20kg backpack over our shoulders to venture forth on a seven day trek into the awesomely beautiful Tasmanian Wilderness. Those days are gone but the memories linger. The images were shot over a fifteen year period from 1994 to 2010 that included the well known Cradle Mountain to Lake St Clair walk, the classic Southcoast Trek, Tasman Peninsula, and the iconic Western Arthur Range. The images were shot more by way of a personal dairy rather than as serious landscape photography, hence lots of selfies! In 2019 thousands of hectares of the Central Plateau were destroyed bush fires causing massive loss of wildlife and native flora. It will be many decades before the wilderness may be seen again as Sandra and I were so privileged to see it then.  Early images were shot with our Olympus OM2n film cameras, and later with our 'state-of-the-art' 4 mega pixel Olympus digital compacts!
